Apply to pitch at the 2017 Accelerate Michigan Innovation Competition for a share of $1M in prizes

Accelerate Michigan has been highlighted as one of the premier events in the Great Lakes region for high-growth companies & venture investors. Awarding up yo $1,000,000 in cash & in-kind prizes, the competition attracts more than 200 company applications annually and will push 36 companies through to the Semi-Final Pitches on November 16 to compete for the $500,000 Grand Prize among other prizes. Accelerate Michigan generates great exposure for elite companies through partnerships with prominent North American investors, venture-focused publications & quality accelerator programs. This competition is often regarded as THE launchpad for Great Lakes startups!

Registration and competition submission are available beginning Friday, July 14.

$50 Early Bird application fee through Friday, August 4.
$100 application fee between Saturday, August 5 & Friday, August 25.
$150 application fee between Saturday, August 26 & Friday, September 1.

The final deadline for submissions is at 11:59pm on Friday, September 1.

  • Innovative & past the proof of concept stage
  • At a commercial stage
  • Must be a scalable product-based business (service businesses are not eligible)
  • Must qualify in one of the following sectors:
    • Advanced Materials / Manufacturing
    • Alternative Energy
    • Business Services
    • Consumer Products
    • Information Technology
    • Life Sciences / Healthcare
    • Media
    • Mobility
    • Other


  • Potential to achieve $10M+ in annual revenue by 2021
  • Have raised no more than $2M in private investment (including angel & venture rounds / does not include private or public grants)
  • Have current annual revenue of no more than $5M


  • Accelerate Michigan is targeted at innovation-based, technology-led companies
  • US companies must provide their EIN
  • Winners must be located in the state of Michigan to receive the award
  • Companies that have previously won a total value of $25,000 in AMIC awards are not eligible
  • Companies that have competed as a Semi-Finalist at least twice are not eligible
