Data And Impact
The 2024 “State of Micro and Small Businesses in the Detroit Region” report dives into the perspectives, challenges, and goals of small businesses in the region. The report includes 1,235 survey responses within Wayne, Oakland and Macomb counties, representing primarily microbusinesses and business owners of color.
The report was released by Detroit Future City in partnership with the New Economy Initiative, Invest Detroit’s Business Support Network Office and JFM Consulting.
This report can inform how the business ecosystem can support small businesses and expand economic activity throughout the region. Survey results show that business owners who are more engaged with the Detroit region’s business support ecosystem generally have more insight on where to go to find different resources.
Thank you to survey ambassadors and Detroit’s small business ecosystem who worked to encourage business owners to respond to the survey.
