Dear Community,
Thank you for your support of the Startup Story Night 2019: “Don’t Call It A Comeback” event! We received over 40 story submissions from entrepreneurs across Southeast Michigan and beyond, making it equally exciting and challenging to select only four to perform.
This year’s selection committee included Shannon Cason, Mainstage storyteller, GrandSlam champion with The Moth and the host for this year’s event; Matt Lewis, Communications Officer for the New Economy Initiative (NEI); and Chrishelle Griffin, Social Media and Events Coordinator for Issue Media Group (IMG).
We are happy to announce the following four entrepreneurs have been selected to perform at this year’s event on March 21, 2019:
- Charese L. Howard, Owner, Amazing Kinkz, LLC
- Mark Kiel, Co-Founder & CSO, Genomenon
- Victoria Washington, Co-Owner, Detroit Dough
- Clement Brown, Jr., Owner, Three Thirteen
Each entrepreneur will work with Shannon to prepare their story for a performance in front of a live audience at The Marble Bar. The event will include live broadcasting, video, photography and editorial coverage, provided in partnership byModel D Media, NEI and WDET.
