Eastern Market this weekend celebrates the completion of its $8.5-million renovation and upgrade of its Shed 5 that includes the creation of a community kitchen likely to play an important role in Detroit’s growing food economy.
The community kitchen will provide a commercial-quality facility for food entrepreneurs to develop, test, and produce new food offerings without having to buy or rent their own kitchen until they are financially ready.
